The Offshore Energy Database Single Point Moorings data set identifies all of the systems employed for offshore loading and offshore storage for the development of oil and gas fields along with onshore loading at the shore terminal. Single Point Mooring Systems or SPMs, may be independent facilities or integrated systems as a part of an offshore platform. Infield Systems identifies 37 different types of SPM including CALM (Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring), TRMS (Turret Riser Mooring System), SPM (Single Point Mooring), SPT (Single Point Turret), STL (Submerged Turret Loading) and HRT (Hybrid Riser Tower) to name the most common found in the oil and gas industry.
