Offshore Field Data Record.
A new discovery is entered on Infield when it
is classified as an economic discovery when looking at the P50 figure
of proven plus probable reserves (the estimated recoverable reserves
that are calculated to have a 50% chance of being recovered).
The fields data set identifies shallow and deepwater fields globally,
those which are currently producing and those that are being planned
or considered for development from the current year onwards.
Fields are added at a very early stage of their
development process. Where no development scheme has been announced
then the field is included, but flagged as not having a development
scheme. These are very important field that have to be considered
during the forecasting process as they may be developed during the
time frame of the forecast.
Please note that the ID Code associated
with each record on the Infield Offshore Energy Database are codes
specific to the Infield database and as such have no other industry relevance. They allow
each record to be related to other records in other data sets. They
also allow our clients to relate and cross reference their own company specific information.
