Record Wells
This data set identifies offshore drilling
activity and provides the reservoir and geological aspect to the
Infield Offshore Energy Database. This file enables the Infield
Research Team to identify new fields at an extremely early stage
of development. As such it is an internal file, but clients can
access this information upon request.
The Infield Offshore Energy Database Wells Data Set is not a complete
representation of the offshore drilling activity since the start
of the industry as is the rest of the database. For the North West
European Continental Shelf the record is quite complete since 1988.
For the rest of the world the coverage is sporadic.
The types of drilling activity the Infield Offshore Energy Database
tracks are as follows;
• Abandonment
• Appraisal
• Delineation
• Development
• Exploration
• Injection
• Observation
• Production
• Relief
• Wildcat
• Workover
Please note that the ID Code associated with each record on the Infield Offshore Energy Database are codes specific to the Infield database and as such have no other industry relevance. They allow each record to be related to other records in other data sets. They also allow clients to relate and cross reference their own company specific information and data.
