Infield Systems at NOR Shipping 2016 – Stand T01-16

At Nor-Shipping we are showcasing our joint venture with maritime specialists Marine Strategies International.

The Infield Systems/MSI Joint Venture – “Integrating Forces for the Offshore Sector”

In 2011, Maritime Strategies International Ltd (MSI) and Infield Systems formed a Strategic Partnership to provide the offshore industry with independent model based valuations and market forecasts. Models have been jointly developed for offshore support vessels, offshore construction vessels and floating offshore installation units. The models utilise Infield Systems’ extensive proprietary databases and technical expertise along with MSI’s shipbuilding asset price modelling capability and experience. The underlying model based structure enables sensitivities and alternative scenarios to be analysed and stress tested, making the service a powerful tool in guiding investment decisions across the marine, shipping and oil & gas supply chains.

Clients using this service benefit from gaining unique access and support from both Infield Systems’ and MSI’s analysts and consultants.

The MSI / Infield Systems partnership has provided many key clients with bespoke and detailed work since the inauguration of the Joint Venture. Some examples include:

  • MSI / Infield Systems provided investigative work on a successful Drilling Rig Leasing / Crewing / Operating company in the shallow waters of the US Gulf of Mexico. Active for 15+ years and providing mainly ‘under the radar’ services to a well-known Oil Major and having undergone two conversions, a valuation report was undertaken.
  • A leading Classification Society was provided with a bespoke project on Floating Installation Units. This work included data on FPSOs, FSOs, FPSs by country and operator. Existing and future FLNG, FSRU and MODU projects were covered and market entrants y-o-y segregated by vessel type and class society were examined and analysed.
  • A well-known owner of tugs, AHTSs and Wind Farm Support Vessels was delivered a full fleet valuation and market outlook on the North Sea and Caspian Sea as part of a bank refinancing requirement.
  • A high profile investment bank was provided with detailed historical Timeseries Data for the global PSV and AHTS markets covering a wide range of vessel sizes. This work included Newbuild and Secondhand prices along with data on Scrap Values, Time Charter and OPEX rates.
