Market Forum explores the key long-term issues facing the global offshore oil and gas industry

City of London based energy analysts, Infield Systems Limited are hosting a two day Market Forum for oil and gas industry players based in Houston this week. The forum will cover the key market sectors; deep and ultra deepwater, subsea, floating production, fixed platforms, pipelines, umbilicals and risers. Infield’s Director of Analytical Services and Publications, Will Rowley said “the forum has been designed as a platform for individuals involved in all aspects of the industry to come together to discuss the trends, drivers, strategies and the potential impacts and threats that face the industry over the next five to ten years. The past five years has seen a lot of structural change and we believe that now is a very important period that will set the tone for many years to come. Current investment patterns, technology changes and the opening of a new range of deepwater development areas has created a degree of uncertainty as to where the real opportunities lie”. He went on to say, “ Infield will be presenting their view of the industry, along with forecasts for each sector and region and indicating a range of key indicators to the long-term development of the offshore industry”. The attendees will also be provided the opportunity to discuss their own issues in trying to analyse their own assessment of future markets.

Registered attendees come from all “corners of the industry” from senior executives from the contracting and supply community, strategic analysts and key personnel from major and independent oil companies. Quentin Whitfield, Director of Data Services commented “We have been very encouraged by the positive response from the Houston oil industry community, the senior level of those attending proves the importance of these issues facing the industry at every level of senior management.”

With Infield Systems opening their new office in Houston, it has therefore been chosen as the location for the first in a series of Forums that will be hosted in key markets around the world. Locations will include Aberdeen, London, New Orleans, New York, Oslo and Singapore, to name but a few.
