OFFPEX Market Modelling & Forecasting System
Values The Future Oil & Gas Industry

City of London-based energy analysts Infield Systems have developed OFFPEX™, a market modelling and forecasting system for the entire offshore oil and gas industry. OFFPEX™ (offshore expenditure) has been entered as a nominee for this year’s Innovation Awards being held as part of the Offshore Northern Seas exhibition and conference.

Will Rowley, Infield Systems Director of Analytical Services & Publications, said "This is a very exciting development as we are able to provide customised forecasts in terms of values and units for all sectors and regions of the global offshore oil and gas industry". He continued, "This gives companies a unique opportunity to take our forecasts and customise them around their own view of the market and yet be able to "drill" down to the individual project components of the forecast."

Since late 2003, Infield’s analytical team have been codifying over five years of industry forecasting experience and fifteen years of industry data management into developing OFFPEX™. Incorporating raw data from and linked to Infield’s Offshore Energy Database, OFFPEX™ is unique in that it has been built from the bottom up, project by project, and can not only produce global, regional, country and sector forecasts but can be fully interrogated down to individual project elements (of which there are many, from equipment through services and sub-contracts to sectors, packages, operators and owners).

OFFPEX™ is the application of Infield’s analytical team of analysts (including economists, geologists and market analysts) into the production of robust and dynamic views of the current and future shape of the offshore industry, both in the medium (5-10yrs) and long term (10yrs+).

OFFPEX™ is the most comprehensive, in-depth and informed analysis of the offshore industry designed to be used as both a working and strategic tool for operators, contractors, suppliers and the financial community. Dr Roger Knight, Infield Systems Data Manager, said "Because we are updating the Infield Offshore Energy Database every day, no facet of this dynamic and ever changing world industry is ignored. Fast-track or slow-track, Infield has the latest information online and deliverable to our clients' desks".

Infield Systems’ Director of Data Services, Quentin Whitfield, commented "Over the next few months Infield Systems will be announcing several new products based around OFFPEX™ and the Offshore Energy Database that are designed to help companies identify markets and make decisions based upon accurate, consistent and transparent forecasts."
